Judge KP George Delivers Video Message To Jewish Community Celebrating Passover

FORT BEND COUNTY JUDGE KP GEORGE DELIVERS VIDEO MESSAGE

TO JEWISH COMMUNITY CELEBRATING PASSOVER.

Fort Bend County, TX —  County Judge KP George taped and posted this video message on Thursday, April 9, to send his wishes for a happy Passover to the Jewish community in Fort Bend County.

The video can be viewed at this link on Facebook.

The text of the video is below:

“Our Jewish community and neighbors celebrating Passover during this coronavirus pandemic is rough.

Remember the Passover story. If not for divine intervention and the Exodus, the Jewish people would still be slaves in Egypt. Therefore, the Seder is an occasion for praise and thanksgiving and for rededication to the idea of liberation.

I thank the Jewish community for their contribution to our county, our country, and the world.

The Chosen People are most resilient to challenges. Together we will conquer this enemy, COVID-19.

This year, we still have more to be grateful for– family, neighbors, freedom in our country, even the matzo that is still on the shelves.

Let’s thank those who are on the front lines — in hospitals, first responders — protecting us all and keeping us healthy and safe.

Please stay home. Be safe. Next year in Jerusalem. Right here in Fort Bend County, we will celebrate the Passover Seder together again.

Thank you, stay safe.”
